Inshore Keel Boats
The Tamar Yacht Club runs a regular program of racing for inshore keel boats from the Beauty Point Club House.
Club regattas, inter-club series and other inshore events are also a great opportunity to mix socially with sailors from many walks of life at the clubhouse after racing.

Expressions of interest are sought from members who are interested in hiring the SB20’s. Hireage prices can be offered per season or per week-end day, with the condition that the skipper must be a member of TYC and is to be on the boat at all times. Offshore Keel Boats
The offshore keelboat program centres around the Christmas/New Year races, including the category 2 Melbourne to Launceston Race, held in conjunction with the Ocean Racing Club of Victoria. The Tamar Yacht Club finished the first running of this event, over a century ago, in 1907.
A much more recent event is the Willie Smith Launceston to Hobart Race which starts from Beauty Point on 27 December. This category 3+ event has rapidly become a popular race for Tasmanian and Australian offshore yachties. This event is run by Derwent Sailing Squadron in conjunction with Tamar Yacht Club.
